A large Federal Agency wanted to transform software delivery from a Waterfall approach to Agile. This agency expressed frustration with long timeframes to deliver important capabilities, and they were not meeting the needs of their customers. They were struggling with integrating vendor capabilities, restricted by large release timeframes and constantly experiencing cost overruns. They wanted to become quicker and more flexible, but did not have the expertise to define and ultimately achieve this transformation.

This agency now has an Enterprise Agile methodology that incorporates clearly defined roles, metrics, stakeholder interactions, and most important, a repeatable process to quickly deliver high-value systems. By using this Enterprise Agile approach the agency was able to salvage a major release that was unable to deliver in 2 years and go live in less than 6 months.
